DIY Short Matching Set | FREE Sewing Patterns | Zoe DIY

Fabric: Non-stretch fabric......  about 1.5-2 meter 
Coordinating thread

Universal ball point sewing needle
Eyelets and tool kit
Shoelace or twill tape
Punch a hole
Sewing machine
Download and print the pattern, piece together then trace the pattern pieces and cut out. Re-measure the neck, chest, waist, hips and the length of the sewing pattern before cutting on your fabric.

Sewing guidelines: use 1cm seam allowance. seam allowances are included in the pattern pieces
Press all seams. Finish all exposed seams by serging, sewing with a zig zag stitch or trimming with pinking shears to prevent fraying.

Prewash and dry your fabric

Step1: With right sides together (RST) align the dart leg markings and sew together. Start at the base of the dart and sew to the tip. Repeat other darts
 Step2: With RST 2 pieces (1 & 2) of front. Pin and sew . Repeat for other side and lining

Step3: With RST the front and the back. Pin and sew side seams. Repeat for lining
 Step4: With RST fabric and lining. Pin and sew all rough edges of the blouse. Don't forget except for about 5 cm to flip top to the right

 Step5: Place the top eyelet pieces on either side of the cut to determine an even placement. Use punch a hole to cut  around the inside of each eyelet
Place your top on a very hard surface. Place the eyelet on top of the anvil and insert the eyelet barrel in the hole from the right side to the wrong side of the top. Place the washer over the barrel with the teeth side down. Position the stud end of the setter into the barrel of the eyelet and hammer forcefully. Repeat this for all of the eyelets.
 Step6: With RST 2 pieces (1 & 2) of front the short. Pin and sew . Repeat for other side and back
 Step7: Place front and back right sides together. Pin and sew out seams, Repeat for other leg
 Step8: With RST 2 leg. Pin and sew front and back crotch seam.
 Step9: Fold waistband in half, right sides together, matching up the outer edges.
Butt the ends of the elastic together and use your sewing machine's stitch to sew them together.
Mark the elastic and the top of the short in quarters. Pin the elastic to the top inside edge of the short, matching the quarter marks. then sew with the top of short

 Step 10: Matching inseam. Pin,sew and Press
 Step11: Fold short hem 1/2" towards the wrong side and press. pin and sew around straight stitch. Repeat for other leg.

We are done!
