DIY Sleeveless jacket and Short ep 02

    Fabric: khaki, gingham, denim... about 1.3m

Download and print the pattern, piece together then trace the pattern pieces and cut out( go down and watch videos to know exactly). Re-measure the neck, shoulders, chest, waist, hips and the length of the sewing pattern to match your body, making sure you have finished before cutting on the fabric.

Sewing guidelines: use 1.2cm seam allowance. seam allowances are included in the pattern pieces
Press all seams. Finish all exposed seams by serging, sewing with a zig zag stitch or trimming with pinking shears to prevent fraying.
Prewash and dry your fabric


Step 7: With RST align the dart leg markings and sew together. Start at the base of the dart and sew to the tip (p10)

Step 8: With RST the back pieces then sew from neck line to the end (p11)

Step 9: With RST the front and the back then sew at two shoulders, making same thing of facing (p12,13)

Step 10: With right sides together of the front and facing then sew (p14)

Step 11: With right sides together then sew the line edges of interfacing (p15). Turn the collar right side out  and ironing to keeps things flat (p16)

Step 12: With RST align center of the collar with the center of jacket. Sew together across the entire neckline. trim the seam allowance to 1/4" (p17)

Step 13: With wrong side facing and right side of the armhole, sew together across the entire armhole (p18)

Step 14: Turn the facing right side out then sew 1/4" the entire armhole (p19)

Step 15: With RST sew 1/2" side seam (p20). Repeat other side

Step 16: Sew a basting stitch 1” from the bottom edge of the jacket. Press the bottom edge up just below your basting stitch. (p21)

Step 17: Press the top edge of the pocket over 1/4" towards th right side of the pocket. then press the top edge of the pocket over 1/2" towards th right side of the pocket. Topstitch the top of pocket in place along the fold line (p22)

Step 18: Align the pockets with the pocket markings and topstitch in place along the sides and bottom edge (p23)
