DIY Sewing Dress | FREE Sreing Patterns | Zoe DIY
Fabric: Cotton types, gingham, chambray......  about 1.5-2 meter 
Coordinating thread
Universal ball point sewing needle
Zipper 25cm
Sewing machine
Download and print the pattern, piece together then trace the pattern pieces and cut out. Re-measure the neck, chest, waist, hips and the length of the sewing pattern before cutting on your fabric.

Sewing guidelines: use 1cm seam allowance. seam allowances are included in the pattern pieces
Press all seams. Finish all exposed seams by serging, sewing with a zig zag stitch or trimming with pinking shears to prevent fraying.

Prewash and dry your fabric

Step1: Fold two edges of strap 1/4" towards the wrong side twice. Pin and using top stitching.
Step2: Fold the dart. Lightly pin in place then sew along the marked line. After sewing off the fabric, leave a long thread tail. Knot the tail close to the edge. Repeat for all the dart
Step3: Cut the strap about 5cm. Pin it between the fabric and the lining. Then sew. Repeat other front side

Step4: With right sides together the back and lining. Pin and sew. Repeat other side
Step5: Matching shoulder line of front and back. Pin and sew shoulder line( fabric with fabric, lining with lining)
Step6: Starting from the left, roll the bodice and bodice lining over towards the right shoulder. Wrap the bodice lining around the rolled fabric. With RST sew the bodice lining to the outer bodice along the armysce.
If you used a sewing machine for this step, clip the seam allowance.
Turn right side out and repeat with the right side of the bodice. Turn right side out and press flat
Step7:  Fold the outer front bodice up to meet the outer back bodice. Line up the front and back outer bodice along the side seams and the front and back bodice lining along the side seams. With RST sew together
Step8: Sew a gathering stitch around the curve bottom of top. Gather it and press. Repeat other side
Step9: With the right two pieces of waistband. Pin and sew a long straight stitch. Turn right out and press. Unseam the waistband then sew waistband with bottom of top
Measure the back waistband to fit your back side. Pin and sew the back with waistband together
Step10: Sew a gathering stitch around the top of skirt. Gather it to fit the waistband. Pin and sew top of skirt with bottom waistband together
Step11: Change zipper foot to sew zipper on the seam side.
Step12: Fold the dress 1/2 inch towards the wrong side and press. Pin around and sew, using a double needle, zigzag stitch, or stretch stitch. We are done!
We are done!
