All step to sew
Step 1: With right sides together (RST) align the dart leg markings and sew
together. Start at the base of the dart and sew to the tip. Your last stitch
should go right off the edge of the fabric. Instead of backstitching tie your
thread tails in a double knot. Press the darts downward.
Step 2: Place front and back bodice right sides together, pin and sew shoulder seams. Press seam open.
Step 3:With RST sew the sleeves into the arm openings. The placket should be on
the back half of the shirt.
*Tip: Now is a great time to try the top on and adjust if you prefer a slimmer fit. It's also a good time to check the length.
Step 5: Place skirt front and back right sides together, pin and sew side seams leaving an opening for inserting your zipper.Finish seam.
Step 6:Slip skirt over bodice, right sides together, matching up all raw edges. Sew around, using a stretch friendly stitch.
Step 7: Cut a long elastic fit your waistline. Butt the ends of the elastic together and use your sewing machine's stitch to sew them together.
Step 8: Press elastic at waistline. Pin and sew
Step 9: With right sides the bottom of dress. Pin and sew
Step 10: Fold dress hem 1/2" towards the wrong side and repeat again one time. pin and sew around a long straight stitch.
Step 11: Sew a line of gathering stitches along the lower edge of the bottom dress. Gently pull the upper edge bobbin thread until it is the same width as the skirt. Pin and sew together
Step 12: Pin bias tape around your neckline. Sew using a 3/8″ seam allowance, and a nice stretch stitch such as a zigzag stitch, serger, or stretch stitch if your machine has one.Clip seam allowance.
Fold the upper edge of the neckband 3/8″ towards the wrong side, and again where the middle fold line is on the neckband. Pin the bottom of the neckband in place, just under the neckband seam. Sew using a long straight stitch to secure.
We are done!
